Mason, George William, 1869-1876

A collection of four manuscript diaries for the years 1869, 1873, 1874, and 1876, of George William Mason of BroadBrook, Connecticut, and later of Agawam, Massachusetts. Mason, born 1859, lives with his parents on a farm and records his daily chores, school and church activities, and recreation time. The 1869 diary, at the back, includes a few entries for 1870; the 1874 diary, at the back, includes a few entries for 1875.

In addition, there is a miscellaneous collection of four items: a letter, with envelope, to Mason from his cousin "Hattie," 6 Nov. 1876; manuscript text [of lyrics?] signed "Edward Lynch,", n.d.; a printed certificate, "Sons of Temperance, Agawam Division, No. 31," with "Willie Mason" written on the face, 25 Nov. 1876.
